Michael,
How you doin? (In Brooklyn Accent)
How did you and Janeen meet each other?
Thanks, Al Barnes
Hi Al,
I first saw Janeen on a chartered plane on the way to the
Children’s Miracle Network Telethon in Utah. She was
with her father, James Best (Rosco P. Coltrane from “The
Dukes of Hazzard”) who I mistook as her boyfriend.
Later my brother, Tommy informed me that she was Rosco’s
daughter and the rest is history.
My name is Stacy Daniels and I have been a fan since the
80s and I know you used to make trips to Fairfield CA. Do
you still travel there?
Your fan always Stacy
Hello Stacy,
I have to say that my work has kept me in Los Angeles this
past year so I have not had the pleasure to travel to Fairfield.
Hey there! My name is Brandi and I am 26 and
have been a fan of yours since the early 80s(Y&R). My
question is, what songs did you perform on Y&R? And what
albums are they on? Your character was always the highlight
of my mom watching Y&R at my young, tender age! I remember
wishing I could be "Cricket."
Lots of love,
Brandi
Brandi
Thank you for watching and give your mom a kiss for me. I
performed so many songs on Y&R, that I'm afraid I don't
have titles of them all. I do know that quite a few are scattered
on most of my albums which I have heard can be purchased on
Amazon and E-Bay.
Hello from San Diego!
Hi Michael, My name is Becky Forester and I went to school
with your and your sister Joni at Bonsal. Union High School.
I remember you were a huge Padres fan and wanted to be a
professional baseball player. I have followed your story
on Y&R and miss you on there by the way. Now that you
are an actor, do you still follow baseball?
Your fan forever,
Becky
Hi Becky,
What a blast from the past. You're right, I did have a dream
at one time to play professional baseball and I'm still
big a fan. I'm also happy to say that after years of rooting
for a losing team the Padres are in first place.
Hi Michael, I was wondering what you have been doing
since you left Y&R last year. All of your fans, including
me, of course, miss watching you on Y&R!!!
From Kristen
Hello Kristen,
First I want to say thank you for missing me. That means a
lot. Since I left Y&R I have directed my first feature
film called “Hot Tamale” which I also wrote and
produced with my wife Janeen. I have always had a passion
for filmmaking and it has been a very fulfilling experience.
For more info on the film and its cast you can go to www.imdb.com
and type in Hot Tamale.
Michael will you have a new album soon? If so when? Will
you ever have music on your website we can download so much
per song? When will Hot Tamale and Red Eye be on DVD?
Lauri
Dear Lauri,
I don't have plans for releasing an album right now but
will let everyone know if that changes. Thank you for your
question about downloading my songs. We are going to look
into that option and see if we can incorporate it into my
website. “Hot Tamale” will be available on DVD
in 2006. We will keep you posted on its release date.
Hi Michael, I know your singing and acting keeps you
really busy but I was wondering what is your favorite thing
to do? Singing, Acting or Broadway or Directing. Also do
you have any hobbies that you do in your spare time for
fun?
Love your fan,
Kamila
Hello Kamila,
That's a very good question. I have to say that at this
point in my life, my passion lies in writing and directing
feature films. But acting and singing have been a huge part
of my career. If the right song or role or show comes along
I'm always open to interesting opportunities.
I have been a fan of yours for years and was interested
to read that you left Y&R and are now directing a movie.
It didn't surprise me because you are such a versatile performer.
As a student at Vancouver Film School I was wondering if
you could tell me some of the films and directors that have
influenced you. Thank you.
- Ben Alexander
Hi Ben,
I would have to say that the movies that made the biggest
impression on me when I was younger were “Star Wars”
and “Grease.” With “Star Wars”,
George Lucas not only changed the entire film industry with
his special effects and THX sound but he was able to create
tangible characters that took me on a journey like nothing
I had ever experienced before. He was also the first person
to make a film of that magnitude outside of the studio system,
which has been an amazing inspiration to independent filmmakers.
“Grease” had unbelievable characters, music
and choreography. I wanted to be John Travolta and left
the theater feeling inspired. That is something I find lacking
in a lot of the films today. There are so many amazing directors
that have influenced me but to name a few I’d have
to say Scorsese, Spielberg, Coppola, Bertolucci, Ridley
Scott and most recently Stephen Chow (Kung Fu Hustle).
